Life Is Short, Hand Applique Anatomical Hearts
Hello Internet!
It's only been, oh, I don't know, three years.
So, here is a project I've been working on for Dia de los Muertos Birmingham.
This is an upcycled wool cape with hand embroidery and applique.
Also, I have been building a giant glowing skull out of 550+ milkjugs with my Kid's Krewe for the very same festival.
Dia de los Muertos benefits the YWCA art program for homeless children in downtown Birmingham. Come out, see art, hear music, and support beauty.

There are squirrels and blue jays and crows going crazy here. Divebombing galore.
It got me thinking... of alll the awesome movies that have been remade for better or for worse)noone has taken on The Birds yet. Maybe that is best.. the next generation, endowed with too short an attention span for black and white films, might be spared of the knowledge that someday all of bird-kind might turn against us.
After all, they are just feathery dinosaurs...
